When to travel to Shanghai?
The best seasons to visit Shanghai are spring and autumn. In winter, temperatures can drop well below freezing, with a blanket of drizzle. Summers are hot and humid with temperatures as high as 40 degree (104F).

Chinese National Holidays are the worst time to travel to Shanghai. Chinese like to say People Mountain, People Sea meaning lots of people in one place. You will be like a drop of water in the Pacific Ocean if you travel to Shanghai during Chinese National Holidays.

Chinese National Day Holiday is from Oct 01 to Oct 07, avoid this period of time. Chinese New Year Holiday is also a 7 day holiday and it is celebrated according to Chinese Lunar calendar, avoid Chinese New Year Holidays (usually in January or February).

Counterfeit Money
Counterfeit money may be found in Shanghai and you may get counterfeit money sometimes on the street. It is very common that shop and restaurant staff will carefully check your note when you pay. You may likely get counterfeit money from street vendors when you do shopping out on the street. Therefore, don’t give big note money to street vendors.
