The Great Wall embodies unparalleled significance as the national symbol for safeguarding the security of the country and Chinese people. After lunch we will visit the Dingling Tomb. Constructed for the 13 emperors of the Ming Dynasty, the Ming tombs follow the precepts of traditional Chinese geomancy and fengshui theory. They feature rich decoration of stone statues and carvings and tiles with dragon motifs, illustrating the development of the funerary architecture of the Ming Dynasty. Next we will make a photo stop at the 2008 Olympic Venues of Bird Nest and Water Cube.
